When you're playing a style of music that doesn't really fit anywhere, you run a risk. You're challenging people to leave their niche, to leave their predetermined ideas of what they're supposed to like. Luckily, we have a lot of people who just focus on the music and appreciate us for what we are. So we get fans from all different genres of music, the jocks, the spooky kids, skaters, college kids, punk rockers, hardcore kids, metal kids, all that"

AFI (the acronym of A Fire Inside) was first born in a suburban garage in Ukiah, California. Its origins are as humble as it gets: four teens making music that they love as a way to alleviate boredom. They learned to play their instruments with each practice, and as such had no idea that in the near future they would be granted a well-deserved fan base consisting of millions.
AFI is anything but another studio band. The sheer power of their music can perhaps only be fully felt live, where in the midst of a concert scene the crowd cheers out, "Through our bleeding, we are one", popular lyrics that truly identify the depth and beautiful of AFI's lyrics.
While two members of the band, Davey Havock and Adam Carson, remain loyal to their potent music, they have seen a change in line-up quite often, bassist Hunter (ex-The Force) joining them before recording their third album "Shut Your Mouth And Open Your Eyes" and Jade Puget coming along during the recording of "Black Sails In The Sunset".
Such changes could have destroyed any other band, but not AFI. They plow forward, spreading their message across the globe, and igniting their flame in millions of new places, threatening to perhaps one day engulf the world.

Adam Carson
The drummer for AFI, Carson was born the 5th of February, 1975. Unlike the other members of AFI, he does not follow the straight edge lifestyle. He is, however, a vegetarian. Adam is well-known as a versatile drummer and as having an obsession with Pirates.
Davey Havock is the incredibly talented vocalist of AFI. Born November 20th, 1975 in Rochester, New York, under a full-moon, Havock is one of the most credible lead singers of today. He is coming out with a clothing line which will be available in 2007, much to the appreciation of his swooning fanbase of teenage girls <3.
Hunter Burgan (who prefers to go by his first name only) is the full-time bassist for AFI. Born May 14th, 1975, he is a one-man band: he can play the piano, bass, accoustic guitar and drums. He is a dietary vegan and will be featured in an album by Anti-Flag in 2006.
Jade Puget, born November 28th, 1973, is the current guitarist for AFI. He has helped the band's progression into different musical quality, and shares the straight edge lifestyle. Jade has many tatoos, including an 18 on his arm which used to be a 13.
